App Store Editors’ Choice: ”Even among the most seasoned urban dwellers here at the App Store, this transit app is our go-to for navigating a city. It's hands down the smartest way to explore cities using all the options available— whether that's by subway, bus, electric scooter, taxi, or your own two feet.”
We had fun building new features for our citizens. Live Activity, turn-by-turn navigation, homescreen widgets, you name it.
We strived for excellence. Growing our user ratings from 4.3 to 4.9 out of 5 over three years was simply remarkable.
We loved giving citizens more options navigating their favorite cities and people loved us back. We had 4x Citymapper Club subscribers compared to pre-2020 level.
It has been truly fascinating and rewarding, working on something that influences how millions of people commute to work, visit their loved ones, and get out there having a marvelous time enjoying everything life has to offer.

Portable Newsgathering (PNg) is the go-to app for thousands of BBC staff to record and edit audio/video clips on their iOS devices. Materials can be sent straight to production systems in newsrooms and local radio stations, ready for broadcast.
My team at BBC Design + Engineering re-wrote the app using Swift. By adopting the latest features in Apple frameworks such as AVFoundation, users were given more control of their capture devices – digital/optical zooming, switching between microphones, and etc.
By utilizing VoiceOver and other accessibility features, we were able to make it possible for PNg to serve even more staff, given that supporting people with disabilities is one of the top priority in the organization.
Millions of people use BBC services every day. It is vital to share how things are achieved and what challenges the organization is facing. Of course, it is also important to hear from other brilliant people in the industry about their experiences.
Sharing my knowledge and giving back to the tech community have been my passions for years. I took part in organizing the very first BBC Tech Meetup event, and I am very proud that I was able to design the logo for this event series.

Trarvel was originally my final year project at King's College London as a computer science student. It became a business idea shortly after the project wrapped up.
The concept aims to help tourists identify landmarks and attractions in their vicinity easily, with the power of augmented reality. The iOS app was engineered using some common Apple frameworks, i.e. UIKit, CoreLocation and AVFoundation. Basic AR functionality was achieved without the use of ARKit.
Trarvel participated the King’s20 Accelerator program and was featured on London Evening Standard.

350 students were selected for the Apple WWDC Scholarship, after thousands of people from all over the world submitting their applications.
I submitted my academic project for that year, ViewLDN, as my application, which luckily brought me my second Apple scholarship.

HackLondon is a student hackathon series, organized by KCL and UCL tech societies.
As a co-organizer, I worked on the live feed and live schedule on the website, written in Javascript and HTML/CSS, which kept attendees updated throughout the event. Also as a leader of the user experience team, guiding signs, opening / closing ceremony, placement of snack tables and many other issues were carefully considered and implemented.
During the whole event we provided a lot of swags for our hackers including Oyster Card holders, stickers and blankets, which were all designed on my own.
In order to apply for the WWDC 2015 scholarship, I created an app that introduced myself. You can: view project on GitHub
This app features Dark Mode, which officially became available to iOS later in 2019. Also it switches between dark/light mode depending on the reading from the iPhone barometer.
